Footage shot on Monday showed a security wall being built around Ain al-Hilweh, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, near the city of Sidon. The Lebanese authorities are said to be building it in response to recent conflicts between Palestinian factions.

SOT, Fuad Othman, member of Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (Arabic): "We were surprised to that they started building this wall around the camp in the middle of September 2016. The wall apparently will surround Ain El Hilweh camp from the eastern side of the camp and will go round to reach Darb el Seine area, encircling the camp completely."

SOT, Fuad Othman, member of Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (Arabic): "We believe that the army and the government are totally entitled to take all the necessary precautions to impose stability, but not in this way. Building a wall will simply push people to emigration or, if they were not able to [emigrate], will end up feeling as if they live in an open prison."
